At WakeMed, Respiratory Therapists are responsible for administering respiratory care within the scope of their practice under a physician's order including, but not limited to, all types of oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, advanced airway management, arterial puncture and analysis, ECG's and mechanical ventilation. Dependent on role, patient populations may consist of adult/geriatric, pediatric and neonatal patients. The therapist plans, implements and evaluates effectiveness of therapy with communication to physician and health care team. Completion of age specific competencies is required. The staff therapist understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, vision, and values in the management of patient care.

Position Information:
The Respiratory Therapist Lead  is responsible for the clinical and technical supervision of the Adult Respiratory Care staff. The Team Leader will ensure effective daily operation over area of responsibility.  The Team Leader will continue to encompass responsibility for administering respiratory care under a physician's order including, but not limited to, all types of oxygen therapy, aerosol therapy, intubation, arterial puncture and analysis, and mechanical ventilation of adult/pediatric/neonatal patients. The Team Leader plans, implements, and evaluates the effectiveness of therapy.  The Team Leader understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of patient care services.

Experience Requirements:
1 Year Clinical - Respiratory Therapy Required

Education Required:
Associate's Degree Respiratory Therapy Required

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner And Registered Respiratory Therapist Required

Hours of Work:
Nights/ 36 per week

Weekend Requirements:
Every Third
