Position Information:
The Supervisor Pathology supervises the internal coordination of Ambulatory/Laboratory Service Center operations. Acts as a supervisory contact for WakeMed Physician Practices as it relates to laboratory testing resulting and workflows.  Proactively provides customer service. Works directly with the Manager other pathology lab sections and other WakeMed departments to address needs and resolve problems that are unique to Laboratory Service Centers and WakeMed Physician Practices. Coordinates the collection of statistical data including preparing reports for Quality Assurance and Continuous Quality Improvement outreach manager pathology managers.  Tracks client test utilization.  Works with Educator/Quality Specialist to provide support training and education to WakeMed Physician Practices.  Ensures timely effective communication with practices and required departments. Documents problems errors and inquiries. Coordinates operations staffing and budgetary administrative components with section manager/management.  Provides after hours assistance as needed.

Experience Requirements:
5 Years Clinical - Phlebotomist Required - And 2 Years Customer Service Required - And 2 Years Leadership Preferred

Education Required:
Associate's Degree Medical Laboratory Technology Or  Healthcare Required - Or Bachelor's Degree Biological Science Or  Healthcare Or  Education Or  Related Field Required

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Phlebotomy Required - Within 1 Year of Hire

Hours of Work:
M-F 8a-5p

Weekend Requirements:
No Weekends

Call Requirements:
every 4th week
