Position Information:
The Simulation Education Specialist is responsible for assessing planning developing implementing and evaluating educational activities for all levels of healthcare providers throughout the system in all WakeMed facilities as a systemwide provider of continuing education. Works in collaboration with the department Manager peers and subject matter experts to facilitate and provide education to organizational regional and national partners. Responsible for facilitation and providing education for professional growth and development of staff and to meet the needs of the system for initial and continuing education programs through promotion of ongoing competency and quality patient care. Works collaboratively throughout the system to support the mission of the organization. Responsible for the application of theoretical principles of adult learning and the educational process to meet organizational divisional and/or unit based goals especially related to patient outcomes. Acts as a resource to hospital staff on multiple levels and in various capacities to ensure adherence to professional standards regulatory agency requirements N.C. Board of Nursing mandates organizational and departmental policies/procedures and protocols and other requirements as outlined by program accreditation standards. Works in collaboration with Manager to plan maintain and operate the WakeMed Medical Simulation Center. Develops curricula staffs center and maintains equipment integrity for the use of simulated medical education.
Experience Requirements:
3 Years Education - Teaching and Facilitation of Learning Required - And Medical Simulation Preferred
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree Healthcare Required - And Master's Degree Healthcare Preferred
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Certified/Licensed/Registered in Field of Practice Required
