Position Information:
The Senior Infrastructure Engineer collaborates with team members and leadership to design maintain and improve WakeMed?s compute and storage infrastructure including on premises and cloud-hosted systems. Technologies supported by this role may include server operating systems hypervisors enterprise block- and file storage systems physical rackmount and blade systems IaaS clouds disaster recovery tools backup utilities monitoring products and related solutions.The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is a technical expert in several areas of responsibility and a strong team player. The role works with little supervision. Job duties and requirements include: Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for several areas by proactively managing and designing systems to meet WakeMed?s requirements and providing mentorship to peers. Propose design implement maintain update support troubleshoot and document solutions and technologies. Provide technical coaching and mentoring to other team members and occasionally prepare and conduct internal training sessions. Proactively improve processes and reduce manual effort via optimization automation and scripting with a focus on authoring and maintaining complex scripts and automation technologies. Make sure technologies are setup and operated reliably efficiently and securely. Stay up to date with current and emerging technologies and proactively propose or implement new ways to improve our service and environment. Provide 2nd and 3rd tier support and participate in an on-call rotation. Take a lead role to work with staff members vendors and others to resolve issues and lead or assist with system setups and implementations. Manage and lead internal projects. Provide input to roadmaps and budget planning. Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience Requirements:
12 Years Information Technology - System Administrator Required - With High School Diploma Or 10 Years Information Technology - System Administrator Required - With Associate's Degree Or 8 Years Information Technology - System Administrator Required - With Bachelor's Degree
Education Required:
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required Associate's Degree Or Bachelor's Degree Preferred
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Microsoft Or VMware Or Redhat Or Cisco Or NetApp Or Linux Preferred
Hours of Work:
Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Weekend Requirements:
