Responsible for complete and accurate data collection associated with the registration of all inpatients and selected outpatients. Position ensures that the data collected allows for patient treatment to proceed without undue delay, conforms to WakeMed, North Carolina State and federal regulations, and results in the most complete reimbursement possible. Staff may function as a registrar collecting data prior to, or at the point of entry.
One year of experience in a healthcare setting related to third party payors. Working knowledge of insurance and managed care industries. Basic medical diagnosis and procedure coding knowledge preferred. Medical terminology knowledge preferred.
High school graduate. Associate degree or college level courses in business or related field preferred.
