The Health Information Specialist, Document Imaging maintains the integrity of the scanned record with knowledge and general understanding of workflows between Epic and WakeMed?s document management solution. Identifies forms missing patient identification and takes appropriate action. Responsible for picking up paper documentation for in-house patients from all nursing units, scanning, indexing and archiving all prepared or faxed medical records. Maintains daily workflow, ensuring records are scanned and archived in a timely, efficient and accurate manner. Responds to requests for release of information as needed for departmental coverage.
2 Years Healthcare - Acute Care Or Equivalent Work/Certification And 1 Year Electronic Medical Records Preferred
High School Diploma or Equivalent Required - And Associate's Degree Health Information Management Or Business Administration Or Related Field Preferred
Registered Health Information Administrator Or Registered Health Information Technician Preferred - And Required In Lieu of Experience
