Position Information:
The Clinical Dietitian R. D. in Pediatric Endocrinology will serve as a Pediatric Diabetes Educator responsible for integrating nutritional counseling in the development implementation and evaluation of the Pediatric Diabetes Program. Use evidence-based research to develop and implement nutrition intervention(s) and monitor and evaluate patient progress. Provide education to the pediatric patients and their families in both WakeMed inpatient and outpatient classroom settings as well as supplemental education for healthcare and school personnel. The Clinical Dietician will collaborate with physicians other program and hospital staff and utilize a collaborative interdisciplinary approach to anticipate integrate and coordinate the patients plan of care and maximize the ability to remain in a community setting. The Clinical Dietician R. D. would also provide services to include but are not limited to medical nutrition therapy developing/updating patient education materials triage calls/messages educate/organize new start programs with vendor review blood glucose trends provide support to providers work with insurance companies to obtain authorizations as needed for our diabetic population.
Experience Requirements:
1 Year Clinical - Dietitian/Nutritionist Required
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree Food and Nutrition Required - And Master's Degree Food and Nutrition Preferred
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Registered Dietitian Required - And Licensed Dietitian Required Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist Required - Within 1 Year of Hire

0745-1645 M-Th, 0745-215 F
Weekend Requirements:
