Position Information:
WakeMed Health & Hospitals NC is seeking a BC/BE Geriatric Psychiatrist to join our multidisciplinary team in providing exceptional mental health care for our community. WakeMed serves a diverse patient population and embraces a recovery-oriented and trauma-informed approach to care. You will join us during an exciting time of growth as we expand our services to include inpatient bed capacity and collaborative care. This strategic hiring initiative aims to enhance the Mental Health & Wellbeing department’s expertise and clinical services, furthering its commitment to providing exceptional psychiatric care within our community and advancing medical knowledge far beyond. Joining this team offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a 150-bed inpatient psychiatric facility, which will be situated within an innovative whole health campus. There will be opportunities for professional growth and leadership development, teaching, and close collaboration across disciplines and specialties.

WakeMed Health & Hospitals is seeking to meet the growing need of our aging population in Cary, NC by providing comprehensive psychiatric consultations within WakeMed Hospital Cary and also by expanding our available outpatient geriatric psychiatry resources. The ideal candidate will have the ability and passion to work independently within a multidisciplinary team at WakeMed Hospital Cary, will have a particular passion and expertise for treating older adults (though will be comfortable treating individuals of all ages), and will collaborate with other specialties to provide exceptional mental health care.
