Here at WakeMed, the Children's Hospital includes PICU, Pediatrics and general observation beds; as well as treatment, playroom and more, allowing our nurses to provide the highest level of pediatric care. The Staff Nurse, Critical Care is responsible for providing total comprehensive nursing to patients and their families through the implementation of a plan of care. The plan is based upon the patient's developmental and health care needs identified through the assessment of the patient's physical, psychological, socioeconomic status, and physician orders regarding care, treatment, and education. The Staff Nurse understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of patient care services. The Staff Nurse actively supports and incorporates ANA Scope and Standards of Nursing Practice, North Carolina Board of Nursing Practice Act, WakeMed's Division of Nursing Professional Practice model, and WakeMed's Patient & Family Centered Care (PFCC) model. One (1) year clinical experience in pediatrics, pediatric intensive care, medical/surgical, or critical care preferred.
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required - or - current enrollment in an advanced education program through an approved educational institution where the nurse has passed NCLEX examination and end result of the program will be an advanced nursing degree (BSN/MSN). Candidate/Employee is required to complete the advanced education program as scheduled. Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred. Applicable National Certification in Nursing preferred.
Current license as an RN or valid Status P (Petitioner) temporary license in State of North Carolina with no substantiated findings required. Status P indicates RN has applied for permanent NC license.
